Vest plans

Quite some time ago I was gifted some amazing and beautiful yarn. It’s a merino/possum blend. No, not an opposum. A possum.

Seriously soft and beautiful yarn. As it was a gift to me I decided that this yarn would be knit into something for me. The problem to that being, I’m (presently) a quite large gal. There is too much yarn to do something as simple as a hat and scarf set, not to mention I’d never use either item.

So began my search for something to knit. I thought about knitting a smaller sized item to have to shrink into but that would mean this yarn could be in my stash for a long long time. To a knitter with a serious stash avoidance issue this is just not an option.

I would discuss this yarn with just about any knitter I met but it wasn’t until just recently that someone suggested a vest. Absolutely freaking PERFECT!! I could knit it up a size smaller than I currently wear when I actually get to it and wear it with the buttons open. Then as I lost weight I could wear it through three sizes. When it’s a size too small, when it actually fits and when its on the big side. If I knit it without seams I could even salvage the yarn and reuse it after the item no longer fit.

Now I just have to find the pattern.
