Other wise known as the about page.
This is one of those times when I wish I could hire some brilliant person with fantastic words to tell anyone who is bored enough to check this page out about me. Sadly, I don’t know anyone who could do that. So you get my rambling on this page too.
So. Hi. I’m Tigs, otherwise known as Carrie. If you want to score points with me you’ll call me Tigs. Obviously, I’m knitting obsessed. I mean, that’s what I write about and take pictures of, right? But there must be more. Tell me there’s more.
Well, I like to cook. That’s not nearly as fun now that I’m a household of one but it is fun because I get to try out anything that sounds good to me and I don’t have to worry about someone else not liking it. If I cook something brilliant I might share it but I wouldn’t hold my breath….or your breath. Or… Okay, no breath holding.
I’m happily owned by Shalia the Wonder Puppy. She came into my life back in 2007 from a local pound. She stole my heart right away even though she was almost everything I didn’t want in a dog. She turned out to be exactly who I needed. I always say if I can’t find her I just need to keep turning around. She is my shadow and feels that she should be allowed to go everywhere with me. I feel the same way too. She’s a social little pup with humans but lordy does she go nuts around other animals. She’s mostly all bark but that bark sounds quite insane.
If we have one thing we disagree on, its how much time I spend knitting. The Roo girl seems to think that all my waking hours should be spent paying attention to her, belly petting is the best but scratching behind the ears will do in a pinch. She’s tolerant of my knitting when she can sit with me but that yarn brushing against her drives her nuts. I do what I can to keep the annoyance level down.
As I write this I’m looking forward to my 40th birthday. I can’t wait for 40 because I will officially be able to consider myself “older” and in my humble opinion, the older folks get to get away with all kinds of things because they are older. Perhaps that’s just because I was taught to respect my elders but its my plan and I’m running with it.
I’m also currently in school. My previous life plan was to continue in my current job and let hubby be the major wage earner. Since the hubby is no longer around it occurred to me that its finally time to get a career and a steady and sufficient income. I had given some thought to going back to nursing school but my messed up back nixed that plan shortly after it was hatched. I need a sit down job. I’ve always had a love of the health field so after much searching and research I’ve decided to get into medical billing. So far I’m loving school. I have this “thing” about being accurate. Not right, accurate. I’m fine with being wrong if it means I learn what is accurate. Coding is most definitely the place for me.
What else? Oh, I’m a TV and movie junkie. And I love the Dallas Cowboys. Marion Barber III is my football crush. Not in an “oh goodness isn’t he cute can I take him home with me” crush but rather a “YAY! Marion is on the field!” crush. Running a close second is Miles Austin. I love the way his face lights up when there’s been an excellent play. TV & Movies….anything but westerns and horrors and even then there are some exceptions. I always say it’s because we didn’t have a TV when I was a kid until right before High School so I have all those formative years of TV watching that I missed out on.
I guess that’s enough for now. Here’s me last year (2009).
